Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days is giving movie buffs another reason to start holiday shopping early, with Lego sets inspired by some of Hollywood’s biggest franchises getting discounts of up to 40%.
Among the standout deals is the Lego Icons “Project Hail Mary” set, which is down to $69.99 from $99.99, a 30% discount and the set’s first major Amazon markdown since its release earlier this year.
The 830-piece set recreates the Hail Mary spacecraft from the Ryan Gosling-led sci-fi hit, which arrived in theaters in March and has since grossed more than $680 million worldwide. Based on Andy Weir’s bestselling novel and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the film follows Gosling’s Ryland Grace, a science teacher who wakes up alone on a spacecraft and gradually discovers he has been sent on a mission to save Earth. The movie is now streaming on Prime Video.
Lego’s version comes with Ryland Grace and Rocky figures, plus a display stand with a working crank that lets builders simulate the spacecraft’s centrifugal gravity system. It’s designed for ages 18 and up, making it as much a piece of movie memorabilia as a building set.
“Harry Potter” fans can score an even steeper discount on the Lego Thestral Family, currently $41.99, down from $69.99, or 40% off. The 548-piece set marks Lego’s first brick-built versions of the Wizarding World’s skeletal winged creatures, with poseable adult and baby Thestrals, fabric wings and a small Forbidden Forest-inspired tree.
For a considerably more ambitious trip back to Hogwarts, the 2,660-piece Hogwarts Castle and Grounds display set is also marked down to around $136.99 from its $169.99 list price. The adult-oriented build recreates the Great Hall, Astronomy Tower, courtyards, greenhouses, Boathouse and Black Lake, with miniature references to locations including the Chamber of Secrets, Potions Classroom and Winged Key room tucked inside.
The galaxy far, far away is also getting in on the sale. Lego’s 25th Anniversary Millennium Falcon is available for $67.99, compared with its regular $84.99 price. The 921-piece display model recreates the ship as it appeared in “Star Wars: A New Hope,” complete with its cockpit, satellite dish and rear engine, and comes with an angled display stand and Lego “Star Wars” 25th anniversary brick.
Another “Star Wars” favorite, the 1,050-piece R2-D2 set, is down to $79.99 from $99.99. The brick-built droid features a 360-degree rotating head, detachable third leg, periscope and tools, along with a display plaque and an exclusive Darth Malak minifigure released as part of Lego’s 25th anniversary “Star Wars” celebration.
The discounts arrive as part of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026, the retailer’s annual fall counterpart to its summertime Prime Day. This year’s 48-hour sale runs Oct. 6 through Oct. 7, ending at 11:59 p.m. PDT Wednesday, with millions of Prime-exclusive deals across more than 35 categories including toys, electronics, fashion, beauty and home. Amazon is also dropping limited-time “Today’s Big Deals” three times daily throughout the event.
Prime Big Deal Days discounts require a Prime membership, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually. Eligible new members can also sign up for a free 30-day trial to shop the sale.
