کاهش مستمر سهام میکرون با افزایش رقابت از سوی چین

حتی ایلان ماسک نیز اذعان دارد که تولیدکنندگان تراشه حافظه چینی در حال پیشرفت هستند.

Shares of Micron Technology Inc. (MU) extended their declines in trading on Thursday, as investors continued to react to concerns about increasing competition from Chinese memory chip makers.

Micron shares were down 2.4% in midday trading, after falling 4.8% on Wednesday. The stock is now down over 30% year-to-date.

The concerns about competition from China were raised by Micron Chief Executive Sanjay Mehrotra during the company’s earnings call on Wednesday. He said that the company is facing “significant pricing pressure” from Chinese competitors.

“We are seeing increased competition in the memory market, particularly from Chinese suppliers,” Mehrotra said. “This is putting pressure on our pricing and margins.”

Even Elon Musk weighed in on the issue, saying that Chinese memory chip makers are “catching up” to their Western counterparts. Musk made the comments on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Chinese memory chip makers are catching up very fast,” Musk said in a post on X. “It’s a serious threat to Western dominance in this area.”

Analysts at Wedbush Securities also weighed in on the issue, saying that they are concerned about the increasing competition from China.

“We are concerned about the increasing competition from China in the memory market,” analysts at Wedbush said in a note to clients. “We believe that this will put pressure on Micron’s pricing and margins in the coming quarters.”

Micron is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of memory chips, which are used in a wide range of electronic devices, including smartphones, computers, and servers. The company is facing increasing competition from Chinese manufacturers, such as Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. Ltd. and ChangXin XinXuan (CXMT).
