راه‌اندازی استارتاپ جدید فناوری عصبی برای رقابت با آزمایشگاه‌های Merge سام Altman

Bridge Neurotech در حال برنامه‌ریزی برای ساخت یک رابط مغز و کامپیوتر پوشیدنی است که از امواج فراصوت استفاده می‌کند.

A new startup called Bridge Neurotech is entering the brain-computer interface (BCI) arena, aiming to rival the efforts of Sam Altman’s Merge Labs. Founded by a team of neuroscientists and engineers from MIT, Bridge is developing a wearable device that uses ultrasound to noninvasively stimulate and record brain activity.

How Bridge Neurotech Differs From the Competition

Most BCIs currently in development rely on invasive implants or external devices like electroencephalography (EEG) caps, which can be bulky and have limited resolution. Bridge’s approach, however, uses focused ultrasound to target specific brain regions with greater precision and depth than traditional methods. This could potentially enable a wider range of applications, from treating neurological disorders to enhancing cognitive abilities.

“We believe that ultrasound is the key to unlocking the full potential of BCIs,” says Bridge CEO and cofounder, Michael Million. “It’s a safe, noninvasive technology that can deliver high-resolution stimulation and recording without the risks associated with implants.”

The Technology Behind Bridge’s BCI

Bridge’s device consists of a lightweight headset that contains an array of ultrasound transducers. These transducers emit focused beams of ultrasound that can either stimulate or inhibit neuronal activity in the targeted brain region. The device also includes sensors that can detect changes in brain activity, allowing for real-time feedback and control.

The company is initially focusing on developing applications for treating neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy. However, they also envision using their technology to enhance cognitive functions like memory and attention.

The Funding and Future of Bridge Neurotech

Bridge Neurotech has raised $10 million in seed funding from investors including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The company plans to use the funding to further develop its technology, conduct clinical trials, and build a team of engineers and scientists.

“We’re excited to be working on this groundbreaking technology,” says Million. “We believe that Bridge has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with our brains and treat neurological disorders.”
