Skylight Buddy Review (2026): Kid Routines Just Got Easy
This kid-friendly version of Skylight’s digital calendar actually gets my son to complete his nighttime routine in a timely fashion.
I’ve tried everything to get my 7-year-old to do his chores. Charts, rewards, pleading—nothing seemed to stick. Then I discovered the Skylight Buddy, a kid-friendly version of Skylight’s digital calendar. It’s been a game changer.
The Skylight Buddy is a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that you mount on the wall. It’s designed to help kids stay on top of their daily routines. You can create custom routines for your child, with tasks like brushing teeth, getting dressed, and packing their backpack. The calendar also includes a built-in timer, so your child knows how long they have to complete each task.
What I love most about the Skylight Buddy is how easy it is to use. The interface is simple and intuitive, even for a 7-year-old. My son was able to figure out how to use it on his own, and he actually enjoys checking off his tasks as he completes them.
The Skylight Buddy also has a few other features that I appreciate. It can sync with your Google Calendar, so you can see your child’s schedule at a glance. It also has a built-in camera, so you can take photos of your child completing their tasks and share them with family and friends.
Of course, the Skylight Buddy isn’t perfect. It’s a bit expensive, at $199. And it requires a subscription to Skylight’s premium service, which costs $10 per month.
But overall, I think the Skylight Buddy is a great investment for parents who are struggling to get their kids to do their chores. It’s a simple, effective, and fun way to help your child stay on top of their daily routines.
