Asus ProArt 27 QD-OLED (PA279cdv) Review: HDR for All
I wouldn’t call it cheap, but this monitor from Asus brings proper HDR-capable video editing to creators who couldn’t previously afford an OLED display.
Asus has been on a roll lately, releasing some seriously impressive displays. The ProArt PA279CDV is the latest, and it’s a 27-inch, 1440p QD-OLED monitor aimed at content creators. It’s not cheap, starting at $900, but it brings proper HDR-capable video editing to creators who couldn’t previously afford an OLED display.
The PA279CDV covers 99.3 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, and it’s factory-calibrated to Delta E < 2. It also supports HDR10 and HLG, and it can reach a peak brightness of 450 nits. That’s not as bright as some other HDR monitors, but it’s still plenty bright for most content creation tasks.
The monitor also has a few other features that content creators will appreciate, such as a built-in KVM switch and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery. It’s a well-rounded package that’s sure to please even the most demanding professionals.
