92% of staff can reskill for AI, HR says – but half of companies still hire outside
Businesses are overlooking a chance to invest in one of their most valuable assets: their employees.
According to new research by CareerMinds, 92% of employees have the potential to reskill for AI roles. However, the study also found that only 48% of companies invest in reskilling programs for their staff, while the rest rely on external hiring.
“The data shows that companies are not fully leveraging the potential of their current workforce,” said Sarah Smith, CEO of CareerMinds. “Investing in reskilling programs can lead to significant cost savings and improve employee satisfaction.”
The research also revealed that companies that invest in reskilling programs are more likely to experience higher employee retention rates and better overall performance.
In conclusion, the research suggests that companies should prioritize reskilling their employees for AI roles rather than hiring externally.
